From February 10, 2019, Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs (MOLISA) stipulating the minimum knowledge volume and requirements for competencies that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in mechanical engineering and related fields will take effect.

In the regulations on the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from the intermediate level, college level in marine engine repair issued alongside Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, it is stipulated that after graduating from the college level in marine engine repair, learners have the competency to meet the requirements in the employment positions of the sector, including:
- Repair of marine engines;- Assembly of marine engines;- Repair and assembly of power transmission systems;- Repair and assembly of marine electrical systems;- Repair and assembly of auxiliary equipment on ships;- Technical officer on ships.
Additionally, regarding the ability for continuous learning and improving the competency of learners, the specific regulations are as follows:
- The minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating in the field of Marine Engine Repair at the college level can continue to be developed at higher levels;- Graduates have the capability for self-learning and self-updating of scientific and technological advancements within the sector to improve their competency or pursue further education at a higher level in the same field or related fields.
