Details of the Vietnam Sustainable Development Strategy 2011 - 2020

The content of Vietnam's Sustainable Development Strategy for the period 2011 - 2020, approved under Decision 432/QD-TTg dated April 12, 2012, by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam, includes: Developing programs/plans for sustainable development action; Integrating sustainable development content into strategies, master plans, economic-social development plans, and sector/field development plans; Organizing the implementation of sustainable development; Implementation funding; Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting.

Specifically: The content of the sustainable development action programs/plans is classified by scope of Ministries, sectors, localities, and organizations/unions as stipulated in Article 4 of Circular 02/2013/TT-BKHDT as follows:

Firstly: The action programs/plans of Ministries, sectors, and localities include the following contents:

- Identifying the objectives of the action program/plan;- Identifying monitoring and evaluation indicators for sector/field sustainable development (for Ministries and sectors) and for localities (for centrally-governed provinces and cities);- Identifying the main content/tasks of the sector/field and locality that need to be implemented to:

- Specifically: Detail the objectives, priority orientations of Vietnam's Sustainable Development Strategy for the period 2011 - 2020;

- Integrate the content of Vietnam's Sustainable Development Strategy for the period 2011 - 2020 into policy formulation, and the development and implementation of strategies, master plans, and development plans of Ministries, sectors, and localities.

- Identifying solutions, implementation methods, and mechanisms for monitoring, evaluating the action program/plan;- Proposing specific projects to implement the content of the action program/plan.

Secondly: The action programs/plans of organizations and unions include the following contents:

- Identifying the objectives of the action program/plan;- Identifying the main content/tasks related to the functions, tasks, and activities of the organization/union that need to be implemented to detail the objectives, priority orientations of Vietnam's Sustainable Development Strategy for the period 2011 - 2020;- Identifying solutions, implementation methods, and mechanisms for monitoring, evaluating the implementation of the action program/plan;- Proposing specific projects (if any) to implement the content of the action program/plan.
