Detailed List of Equipment Used in Educational Institutions

The Minister of Education and Training has just issued Circular 16/2019/TT-BGDDT providing guidelines on standards and norms for the use of specialized machinery and equipment in the field of education and training.

Article 4 of Circular 16/2019/TT-BGDDT has provided a list of equipment to be used in educational institutions. To be specific:

- Equipment included in the list of teaching equipment issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.- Equipment not included in the list of teaching equipment as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training includes:

- Equipment, utensils for canteens, kitchens, and dormitories serving the nurturing and care of children and students;- Equipment for examination and admission, evaluation, and quality assurance;- Computers, network connection devices, software supporting teaching, learning, and scientific research, audiovisual devices, systems of desks, chairs, boards, cupboards/shelves, racks installed in classrooms and functional rooms including: meeting rooms, professional group activity rooms, art education rooms, science and technology rooms, IT rooms, language rooms, subject rooms, libraries, multi-purpose rooms, team activity rooms, traditional rooms, health rooms, support rooms for inclusive education for students with disabilities, student counseling rooms, and multi-functional houses;- Sanitary equipment in student restrooms;- Equipment for school health services;- Equipment and tools for physical education activities in schools;- Equipment for specialized schools;- Other equipment serving teaching and learning activities.

Additionally, Circular 16 also sets the standards for the usage of equipment in educational institutions as follows:

- For equipment included in the list of teaching equipment issued by the Ministry of Education and Training: Based on the scale of students, number of classes, and the regulations in the list of teaching equipment issued by the Ministry of Education and Training to determine the quantity, ensuring adequate equipment for teaching, learning, and child care activities in educational institutions.- For equipment not included in the list of teaching equipment as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training, the following principles should be followed:

- Suitability with the content of the curriculum and educational activities;- In line with the development orientation of the educational institution to achieve the standards of facilities and equipment in each phase;- Scale of students, number of classes;- Meeting the requirements for innovative teaching and learning methods;- Actual usage needs;- Conditions of physical facilities for installation, maintenance, and use of equipment.
