Circular 08/2018/TT-NHNN was issued by the State Bank of Vietnam on March 30, 2018, listing specific standards for awarding commemorative medals in banking activities.
Accordingly, Circular 08 stipulates the standards for awarding commemorative medals to officials in the Banking sector, including:
- Commemorative medals are awarded to individuals who have completed their tasks well and have sufficient time participating in the Banking sector: 20 years for men and 15 years for women;- Officials who naturally receive or are posthumously awarded the Commemorative Medal include: bank officials recognized as martyrs; officials participating in the Preparatory Committee for the establishment of the National Bank of Vietnam; bank officials who participated in battlefield B before 1968; bank officials awarded by the State with titles such as: "Gold Star Medal," "Ho Chi Minh Medal," various classes of Independence Medal, "Hero of Labor," and comrades who are leaders of the State Bank of Vietnam;
Special priority is given to officials for awarding the Commemorative Medal, including:
- Officials who worked in the Banking sector from May 6, 1951 to May 7, 1954 and have a continuous working period of at least 10 years;- Bank officials who participated in battlefields B, C, K during the resistance war against the US before April 30, 1975, will have their service time multiplied by a factor of 2 (one year equals two years) when considered for the award;- Former bank officials who were assigned to the military, youth volunteers, or sent to study or transferred to other sectors and then resumed service in the Banking sector, will have that time counted as continuous service in the Banking sector when considered for the award;- Officials who retire in the year being considered for the award and have participated in the Banking sector for 19 years and 6 months for men and 14 years and 6 months for women by the time of retirement.
