Control of Rainfall Data and Agricultural Meteorological Data

Below is the notable content in Circular 39/2013/TT-BTNMT issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, promulgating technical-economic norms for meteorological and hydrological documentation work, issued on October 30, 2013.

Monitoring of Rainfall Data and Agricultural Meteorological Data (Illustration)

To be specific, Article 7 of the Regulation on economic-technical norms for meteorological and hydrological data work issued together with Circular 39/2013/TT-BTNMT stipulates the monitoring of rainfall data as follows:

- Monitor the physical condition of the data;- Monitor the implementation of procedures and standards;- Monitor various reports;- Monitor the rationality between weather phenomena and types and amounts of precipitation;- Monitor the steps in calculating and selecting extreme values in reports;- Compare with 1 (or 2) copies of the data reports;- Annually (early in the year), collect and monitor the original records (SKT5) of the previous year according to the above process.

Furthermore, Article 8 also stipulates the monitoring of agricultural meteorological data as follows:

- Monitor the physical condition of the data;- Monitor the implementation of procedures and standards;- Monitor various original records;- Monitor various reports;- Monitor fieldwork corresponding to the development stages of crops;- Monitor data consistency;- Monitor the rationality between weather phenomena and the state of the underlying surface;- Monitor the consistency between original records and reports;- Monitor and compare meteorological data of similar items with the BKT1 table at the same station;- Monitor the rationality of phenological data through different stages of development of plants and animals;- Monitor the steps in calculating on reports;- Compare with 1 (or 2) copies of the data reports.
