Recently, the Ministry of Health issued Circular 17/2014/TT-BYT regulating the issuance of operational licenses for Red Cross first aid stations and points, and the training of Red Cross first aid, which includes provisions on the content of the first aid training program in Vietnam.

According to Article 8 of Circular 17/2014/TT-BYT, the content of the first aid training program of the Red Cross training facility in Vietnam is stipulated as follows:
- Training content: 10 first aid techniques;
- Training duration: 24 periods;
- Number of students in one training class: no more than 30 people;
- Number of trainers: at least 02 trainers per training class;
- Organizing unit: Red Cross Association at the district level or higher.
- Training content: 14 first aid techniques;
- Training duration: 40 periods;
- Number of students in one training class: no more than 30 people;
- Number of trainers: at least 02 trainers per training class;
- Organizing unit: Red Cross Association at the district level or higher.
- Training content: advanced first aid techniques within the scope of expertise and pedagogy, training skills;
- Training duration: 40 periods;
- Number of students in one training class: no more than 20 people;
- Number of trainers: at least 02 trainers per training class;
- Organizing unit: Red Cross Association at the provincial level or higher.
- Training content: first aid techniques; pedagogy and training skills; methods and skills for monitoring, evaluating, and managing students after training;
- Training duration: 168 periods;
- Number of students in one training class: no more than 15 people;
- Number of trainers: at least 02 trainers and 01 instructor per training class;
- Organizing unit: organized by the Central Red Cross Association.
More details can be found in Circular 17/2014/TT-BYT which comes into effect in Vietnam from August 1, 2014.
