Conditions for Practicing as a Tour Guide

Item 3, Article 58 of the Law on Tourism stipulates 03 mandatory conditions to become an international and domestic tour guide as follows:

- Has a tour guide card;

- Has a labor contract with a business providing travel services or a business providing tour guide services. In cases where there is no contract with a travel business or a business providing tour guide services, the tour guide must be a member of a social-professional organization for tour guides.

- Has a tour guide contract with a business providing travel services or an assignment document according to the travel program, specifically:

- For tour guides who are contract employees of a business providing travel services: Must have an assignment document according to the travel program of the business providing travel services when performing tour guide tasks for the company's tour groups.- For tour guides who are members of a social-professional organization or are contract employees of a business providing travel services or a business providing tour guide services: Must have a tour guide contract with the business when performing tour guide tasks for the company's tour groups.

For on-site tour guides, the practicing tour guide must simultaneously have the following 02 documents:

- Tour guide card;- Assignment from the organization or individual managing the tourist area or site.
