Compilation of Minimum Requirements for the Intermediate Level Printing Technology Industry

Summary of Minimum Requirements for Intermediate Printing Technology (Illustration)

According to the regulations issued with Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH, graduates of the intermediate printing technology program must meet the following minimum requirements:

* Regarding Knowledge:

- Present basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, and physical education as prescribed;- Present and clearly understand the parameters recorded in production sheets, product mockups, and printing production mockups;- Present and apply the synthesis of colors and its application in the process of image reproduction printing (color separation, color printing, color ink mixing...);- Present the components and basic properties of some main materials used in the printing industry: printing paper, thin polymer films and metal coated films (Metalize), printing ink, and ink solvents;- Describe the features and structure of offset and flexo printing plates;- Understand and explain the printing production technology, including Prepress, Press, and Postpress;- Describe the structural principles and operation of offset and flexo printing machines;- Present and apply the technological process to establish production processes by offset and flexo printing methods;- Present the standards and methods of evaluating and checking the quality of printed sheets and printed products;- Present the basic safety, labor protection, and fire prevention requirements when working in a printing plant.

* Regarding Skills:

- Use basic information technology as prescribed; apply information technology in some specialized tasks of the industry and profession;- Use basic foreign languages, reaching level 1/6 according to the 6-level Foreign Language Competence Framework of Vietnam; apply foreign languages to some specialized tasks of the industry and profession;- Read and interpret the content of production sheets and information of product and production mockups;- Establish and select production plans and used equipment;- Implement production planning, quality control processes, use materials, and establish appropriate technical parameters in printing production;- Set parameters and operate commonly used printing machines;- Prepare materials (paper, thin films, ink, chemicals...) used in printing technology;- Mix color ink according to samples from basic color inks;- Load paper rolls and thread paper webs through the printing units following the printing method of roll paper printing machines;- Install printing plates on the machine, test print for registration;- Calculate to set and adjust printing pressure;- Follow the technological process to produce printed sheets on commonly used offset and flexo printing machines;- Handle some common defects during the offset and flexo printing process.

* Regarding Autonomy and Responsibility:

- Ability to work independently or in groups to solve basic tasks and problems in changing work conditions in printing production;- Provide guidance and supervise others to perform specified tasks, assume personal responsibility and responsibility towards the group;- Evaluate the quality of work after completion and the performance results of group members;- Proactive, serious, and responsible for individual work results before the leadership of agencies, organizations, and enterprises.
