Below is the basic content stipulated in Circular 19/2017/TT-BGTVT on the regulation of management and assurance of flight operations issued on June 06, 2017 in Vietnam.
According to the guidance of Article 130 of Circular 19/2017/TT-BGTVT, the collection and storage of aviation meteorological data in Vietnam are stipulated as follows:
1. MET facilities collect and store meteorological data in accordance with the operational guidance documentation of each facility.
2. Airport meteorological observatories store:
- For a minimum period of 5 years: METAR/SPECI data logs;
- For a minimum period of 2 years: data of sent and received meteorological messages.
3. Airport meteorological facilities store:
- For a minimum period of 5 years: METAR/SPECI data of airports within the area of responsibility; weather radar data; meteorological satellite cloud images; original TAF, TAF AMD bulletins; monthly, quarterly, and yearly weather summary reports
;- For a minimum period of 2 years: logs of weather reports at relevant airports; logs of weather forecast bulletins, sent and received meteorological messages; statistics on flights threatened or involved in accidents; shift logs; various weather maps and charts.
4. Aviation weather warning facilities store:
- For a minimum period of 5 years: domestic and international OPMET data; weather radar data; meteorological satellite cloud images; monthly, quarterly, and yearly weather summary reports;
- For a minimum period of 2 years: sent meteorological messages; received meteorological messages; weather maps and charts; statistics on cases of safety threats or aircraft accidents related to weather; meteorological data provided to ATS facilities; shift handover logs.
Circular 19/2017/TT-BGTVT takes effect from August 1, 2017.
