- Classification by cause
Railway traffic accidents include accidents due to subjective causes and accidents due to objective causes. Specifically:
- Accidents due to subjective causes are accidents that occur due to violations of the laws on railway transportation of organizations or individuals belonging to railway business enterprises.- Accidents due to objective causes are accidents caused by force majeure reasons (natural disasters, enemy destruction) or other reasons beyond the subjective causes of railway business enterprises.
- Classification by the extent of damage caused by railway traffic accidents includes:
- Minor railway traffic accidents are accidents with 01 to 05 injured people or causing property damage valued from twenty million VND to under one hundred million VND.- Serious railway traffic accidents are accidents causing 01 death or 06 to 08 injured people or causing property damage valued from one hundred million VND to under five hundred million VND.- Very serious railway traffic accidents are accidents causing 02 deaths or 09 to 10 injured people or causing property damage valued from five hundred million VND to under one billion five hundred million VND.- Especially serious railway traffic accidents are accidents causing 03 or more deaths or 11 or more injured people or causing property damage valued from one billion five hundred million VND or more.
