Circular 47: Introduction to Metalworking at the Intermediate Level

Recently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (BLDTBXH) has issued Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in technical mechanics fields.

In the Regulation on Minimum Knowledge Volume, Competency Requirements for Learners After Graduating from Intermediate, College Level in the Machining Technology Sector, issued along with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, Intermediate Machining Technology is defined as a profession that primarily uses various hand tools and devices with the support of machine tools to process and manufacture machine parts; assembly, repair, adjustment, and maintenance of jigs, molds, etc., meeting the Level 4 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

The main tasks of the Machining Technology profession include: reading drawings, technical requirements, formulating manufacturing technology processes, assembling, repairing various jigs and molds; using various hand tools with the support of machine tools to process and manufacture parts, perform assembly, repair, and adjustment of jigs, molds, operating devices to execute tasks of the profession.

A Machining Technology practitioner works in manufacturing workshops, assembly workshops, repair workshops of mechanical production plants, performing one or several operations, stages of manufacturing, assembling, repairing various jigs, molds, repairing, and maintaining various measuring tools.

Laborers must have good health and professional ethics, possessing sufficient knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of different job positions.

Note that the minimum knowledge volume is 1,650 hours (equivalent to 58 credits).
