On February 10, 2019, Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued regulations on the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at the intermediate level and college level in fields such as materials, metallurgy, production, and other engineering technologies, which will take effect.

According to regulations on minimum knowledge volume, competency requirements to be achieved by the learner upon graduation at intermediate level, college level in the metal rolling and drawing technology major, issued along with Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the college-level metal rolling and drawing technology major involves tasks such as operating and adjusting equipment; calculating and fine-tuning the metal drawing and rolling technology parameters; organizing and managing tasks in the metal rolling and drawing field to produce rolled and drawn products that meet the economic, technical, and labor safety standards, fulfilling Level 5 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.
The main tasks of a person in the Metal Rolling and Drawing Technology profession include: Preparing metal rolling and drawing billets; operating the billet reheating furnace; adjusting profile rolling equipment; operating profile rolling equipment; plate rolling; welded pipe rolling and forming technology; drawing metal; cooling products; inspecting, handling, and recovering products; organizing, managing, and ensuring quality.
The working conditions and environment of this profession have special characteristics. Therefore, to practice the profession, workers must meet health requirements, sufficient specialized knowledge and skills, strong nerves, and quick reflexes to work with high precision and handle arising situations. Moreover, the Metal Rolling and Drawing Technology profession is a line-based work requiring professional ethics, industrial working style, high sense of responsibility, and high team collaboration, with the capability to communicate and handle interactions during task execution and in organizing particular professional tasks.
Note: The minimum knowledge volume is 1,800 hours (equivalent to 65 credits).
