On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (Bo Lao Dong - Thuong Binh va Xa Hoi - BLDTBXH) issued Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at the intermediate and college levels in the fields of mechanical engineering technology.

According to the provisions on the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in the mechanical equipment manufacturing industry, issued along with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, it is regulated that the mechanical equipment manufacturing industry at the college level is an industry that executes the creation of auxiliary equipment and mechanical products applied in production processes and social life. This includes equipment components in the fields of mechanics, construction, electricity, etc., both standard and non-standard components, ensuring technical and safety standards, meeting level 5 requirements in the Vietnamese national qualifications framework.

The work of this profession is primarily carried out in workshops, factories, production and business companies with favorable working conditions, ensuring safety and health hygiene. The work intensity is not high but has great pressure regarding service time and the requirement to meet diverse customer satisfaction.

To practice this profession, workers need to be in good health, have good professional ethics, possess sufficient specialized knowledge, and vocational skills that meet job position requirements. Additionally, they need to frequently study to enhance foreign language communication skills, expand social knowledge; practice carefulness, detail, and clarity; build a professional mindset and passion for the job.

Note that the minimum knowledge volume is 2,500 hours (equivalent to 90 credits).
