07 High Performance Sports Competitions According to New Regulations

Law on Physical Training and Sports (Amended) 2018 was passed by the National Assembly of the XIVth National Assembly, 5th Session on June 14, 2018.

The law has added up to 07 high-achievement sports competitions, compared to the provisions in the Law on Physical Training and Sports 2006 which only had 04 competitions. Specifically, the competitions are as follows:

Regional, continental, and world sports games held in Vietnam.
National sports games.
Regional, continental, and world championship tournaments and junior championship tournaments for each sport held in Vietnam.
Annual national championship tournaments and junior championship tournaments for each sport.
Competitions and matches organized or hosted by national sports federations or international sports federations.
Championship tournaments for each sport in provinces and centrally-governed cities.
Other high-achievement sports competitions and matches organized by sports federations in provinces and centrally-governed cities.

The national sports federation recognizes national records in sports, as well as domestic and international sports competition results.

More details can be found in the Amended Law on Physical Training and Sports 2018, which takes effect from January 1, 2019.
