Law on Anti-Corruption was recently passed by the National Assembly on November 20, 2018. The Law comprises 10 chapters with 96 articles and is effective from July 1, 2019.
According to the new regulations, to effectively implement anti-corruption efforts, the Anti-Corruption Law 2018 strictly prohibits the following acts:
- Corrupt acts stipulated in Article 2 of the Anti-Corruption Law.- Threatening, retaliating against, oppressing, or disclosing information about individuals who report, denounce, accuse, inform, or provide information about corrupt acts.- Exploiting the act of reporting, denouncing, accusing, informing, or providing information about corrupt acts to slander other agencies, organizations, units, or individuals.- Concealing corrupt acts; unlawfully obstructing or interfering in the detection and handling of corruption and other legal violations on anti-corruption stipulated in Section 2, Chapter IX of the Anti-Corruption Law.
Also, according to the regulations, citizens have the right to detect, report, denounce, accuse, and inform about corrupt acts and will be protected and rewarded.
