This is a noteworthy content stipulated by the Government of Vietnam in Decree 62/2014/ND-CP regulating the consideration for awarding the titles of “People’s Artisan,” “Excellent Artisan” in the field of intangible cultural heritage.
From August 7, 2014, Vietnamese citizens who hold, teach, and promote the value of intangible cultural heritage in the following forms: Language, writing; Folk literature; Folk performing arts; Social practices and beliefs; Traditional festivals; Folk knowledge, are considered for the title of “People's Artisan” upon meeting the following criteria:
- Loyal to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; complies well with the guidelines and policies of the Communist Party and the laws of the State, and the internal regulations and rules of the agencies, units, organizations, localities;- Possess good moral qualities, exemplary in life; passionate and dedicated to the profession, admired and respected by colleagues and the public; trained individuals who are participating in the protection and promotion of the value of intangible cultural heritage;- Have outstanding professional talents, with significant contributions to the cause of protecting and promoting the value of intangible cultural heritage nationwide, demonstrated in the mastery of skills and secrets in practicing intangible cultural heritage, with achievements, awards, spiritual or material products of high value in history, culture, science, art, aesthetics, technology;- Have been active in the profession for 20 years or more and have been awarded the title of “Meritorious Artisan” by the State.
