02 Requirements on Ensuring Energy Consumption Norms for Seafood Processing

The Ministry of Industry and Trade recently signed and issued Circular 52/2018/TT-BCT regulating the energy consumption norms in the seafood processing industry, applicable to the industrial processing of pangasius and shrimp product groups.

According to Circular 52, ensuring energy consumption standards must meet the following conditions:

- Seafood processing facilities currently operating with energy consumption rates higher than the corresponding energy consumption standards for each stage must develop and implement a plan to improve energy use efficiency to ensure the energy consumption standards.- Before January 15 each year, seafood processing facilities are responsible for reporting to the local Department of Industry and Trade:- The situation of implementing the energy consumption standards of the unit for the previous year.- In addition to the above report content, seafood processing facilities with energy consumption rates higher than the energy consumption standards also have the responsibility to report the plan to improve energy use efficiency.
