When is a permanent residence card reissuance required?
Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 43 of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam 2014, the regulation on cases requiring the reissuance of permanent residence cards is as follows:
The permanent residence card is issued by the Provincial or Municipal Police Department directly under the central government. Every 10 years, foreigners with permanent residence must go to the Provincial or Municipal Police Department where they reside to have their card reissued.
Additionally, the reissuance dossier is also specified in this Article and includes:
- An application form for the reissuance of the permanent residence card;
- The permanent residence card;
- A certified copy of the passport, except in cases where the person is stateless.
