Is it Permissible to Bring Gold Bullion from Abroad into Vietnam?
According to Article 2 of Circular 11/2014/TT-NHNN stipulating the carrying of gold when exiting or entering the country with a passport as follows:
Vietnamese individuals and foreign individuals exiting or entering the country with a passport are not permitted to carry gold bars or raw gold. In the case that a foreign individual enters Vietnam carrying gold bars or raw gold, they must perform procedures to deposit them at the Customs warehouse to retrieve when exiting the country or perform procedures to transfer them abroad and must bear all related incurred costs.
Vietnamese individuals and foreign individuals exiting or entering the country with a passport carrying gold jewelry or fine arts with a total weight of 300g (three hundred grams) or more must declare with the Customs authorities.
Based on the above regulations, you are not permitted to carry gold bars when entering Vietnam with a passport. Regardless of small gold bars. Please comply with the above regulations accordingly.
