Pursuant to Section 2.12.4 of the National technical regulation on safety in construction QCVN 18:2021/BXD promulgated together with Circular 16/2021/TT-BXD stipulating standards for the system of machines and equipment for the construction of piles placed on floating devices in ensuring safety at construction sites in Vietnam as follows:
2.12.4.1 When constructing piles on water, precautions related to road safety work must be taken as specified in 2.13 and there must be at least one rescue vessel (boat) in good working order and be ready to use at all times.
2.12.4.2 Pile crew members on flotation devices (ships, boats, buoys, rafts and other flotation devices) must be trained to operate the flotation device.
2.12.4.3 On floating equipment and machine, pile construction equipment, whistles, trumpets, sirens or other effective signaling devices must be fully equipped.
2.12.4.4 On the floating equipment and the machine, the pile construction equipment, suitable fire protection equipment must be fully equipped.
2.12.4.5 Based on the weight of the pile construction machines and equipment, arrange them on the working platform of the floating equipment so that the working platform is always in a state of balance (no tilt or deflection).
2.12.4.6 The hull, barge, floating raft or other flotation device (where machinery, pile construction equipment) is to be divided into watertight compartments. These watertight spaces shall be constructed or equipped with siphons to prevent water ingress.
2.12.4.7 Doors (holes) on the floor of the flotation device and the working platform must have covers that are firmly connected to the floor and fit snugly with the openings (holes).
2.12.4.8 On the working floor, there must be enough systems of wheels, pulleys and other supporting tools and equipment so that the pile constructor can control the piles (or retaining pipes, kingpost bars, cages) steel, pipe, concreting hopper when constructing bored piles) in any direction to the position of piling (or concreting) safely.
2.12.4.9 It is necessary to regularly check the number of people of the pile construction team on the flotation device.
2.12.4.10 The requirements for use, operation and equipment on floating equipment moving on the water and other requirements related to construction work on the water must comply with the provisions of 2.13.
What are standards for sheet piles and inner sheet piles in ensuring safety at construction sites in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Section 2.12.5 of the National technical regulation on safety in construction QCVN 18:2021/BXD promulgated together with Circular 16/2021/TT-BXD stipulating standards for sheet piles and inner sheet piles in ensuring safety at construction sites in Vietnam as follows:
2.12.5.1 To prevent danger from wind or other causes, manual wiring or other effective means must be used to control sheet piles and sheet piles.
2.12.5.2 When using a gate-shaped support frame (H-frame) with a height of more than 2.0 m to support construction work, these frames are not allowed to be used as a working platform, except for installing additional safety railings with foot rests and ladders for workers to access.
2.12.5.3 The length of the control wire must be less than the length of the pile, and the wire must be ensured not to get stuck at positions around the pile or be swept by the wind, leading to the uncontrollability of the pile.
2.12.5.4 If the pile is so heavy that it is impossible to open the clamp (the device to hold the pile) by the remote control device or the worker cannot open the clamp from the standing position on the ladder, a lifting cage must be provided for the person to labor reach and open the clamp head.
2.12.5.5 Workers transporting and manipulating piles by hand are required to use protective gloves.
2.12.5.6 When lowering piles by using heavy objects (stone, concrete), sheet piles, sheet piles must be kept safe.
2.12.5.7 In the cofferdam, there must always be pumps with sufficient capacity to pump water in order to maintain a state of no water inside.
