What is time limit of permanent residence card of foreigners in Vietnam?
My husband is a foreigner. I recently went to make a bail application for my husband to make a permanent residence card and have now received the card. But I don't know what is time limit of permanent residence card of foreigners in Vietnam? Please advice.
According to the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam 2014, for permanent residence cards of foreigners, there are no regulations on the time limit for use.
However, in this Law, Every 10 years, every foreigner who has a permanent residence status must go to a provincial police authority to replace the permanent residence card. (Article 43 of this Law) The application consists of:
a) An application form for replacement of the permanent residence card;
b) The permanent residence card;
c) A certified true copy of the passport, except for those without nationalities.
Therefore, your husband needs to note that every 10 years, he must go to the Provincial Police of his place of permanent residence in Vietnam to carry out the card replacement procedure.
