Will fireworks be allowed during the Lunar New Year 2025 in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 17 of Decree 137/2020/ND-CP regulating the use of fireworks:
Article 17. Use of Fireworks
- Agencies, organizations, and individuals with full civil act capacity are allowed to use fireworks in the following circumstances: festivals, Tet, birthdays, weddings, conferences, inaugurations, anniversaries, and cultural and artistic activities.
- Agencies, organizations, and individuals using fireworks must only purchase them from entities, businesses authorized to produce and trade fireworks.
Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 14 of Decree 137/2020/ND-CP regulating the conditions for research, production, trading, export, and import of fireworks and fireworks materials:
Article 14. Conditions for research, production, trading, export, and import of fireworks and fireworks materials

- Fireworks trading must ensure the following conditions:
a) Only organizations and enterprises under the Ministry of National Defense are allowed to trade fireworks and must obtain a Certificate of Eligibility for Security and Order from the competent police authority; ensuring conditions for firefighting, fire prevention, incident response, and environmental protection;

Therefore, the public is allowed to use and set off fireworks during the Lunar New Year 2025 if they have full civil act capacity and purchase fireworks from organizations and enterprises under the Ministry of National Defense authorized to trade fireworks.
Note: Fireworks used for burning must be purchased from organizations and enterprises authorized to produce and trade fireworks.
Which major holidays are employees in Vietnam entitled to fully paid days off?
Pursuant to Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019 regulating holiday leave:
Article 112. Holiday Leave
- Employees are entitled to fully paid days off on the following holidays:
a) New Year's Day: 01 day (January 1 in the Gregorian calendar);
b) Lunar New Year: 05 days;
c) Victory Day: 01 day (April 30 in the Gregorian calendar);
d) International Labor Day: 01 day (May 1 in the Gregorian calendar);
e) National Day: 02 days (September 2 in the Gregorian calendar and one contiguous day before or after);
f) Hung Kings' Commemoration Day: 01 day (March 10 in the Lunar calendar).

According to the regulations above, employees are entitled to fully paid days off on the following holidays:
- New Year's Day: 01 day (January 1 in the Gregorian calendar);
- Lunar New Year: 05 days;
- Victory Day: 01 day (April 30 in the Gregorian calendar);
- International Labor Day: 01 day (May 1 in the Gregorian calendar);
- National Day: 02 days (September 2 in the Gregorian calendar and one contiguous day before or after);
- Hung Kings' Commemoration Day: 01 day (March 10 in the Lunar calendar).
In the case of employees who are foreign nationals working in Vietnam, in addition to the above holidays, they are entitled to an additional 01 traditional national holiday and 01 national day of their country.
