What is the Branch of the Vietnam Writers' Association?
Based on Clause 1, Article 20 of the Charter of the Vietnam Writers' Association (Issued under Decision 1685/QD-TTg of 2021) stipulates as follows:
A Branch is a grassroots organization belonging to the Association that does not have legal status, its own seal, or account, established by the Executive Committee of the Association and under the direct guidance of the Association and the local party committee. Each province, city, and agency with 3 (three) or more members may establish a Branch. The Branch has the following tasks:
- Implement the work plans of the Executive Committee of the Association; participate in literary activities organized by the locality;
- Participate in introducing new members; introduce personnel in the fields of: field trips, attending creative camps, foreign relations;
- Collect members' fees in the Branch and have the right to use those fees for the activities of the Branch according to the financial management and use regulations of the Association;
- The Executive Committee of the Branch is elected by the Branch Congress. The term of the Branch Congress is 5 (five) years. The number of members in the Executive Committee of the Branch is decided by the Branch Congress based on the number of members. In the case of organizing an extraordinary Branch Congress, it must be approved by the Executive Committee of the Association. The head of the Executive Committee of the Branch is the Branch Leader.
