Based on Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019 regarding public holidays in Vietnam:
Article 112. Public holidays
- Employees are entitled to a day off work with full pay for the following public holidays:
a) New Year's Day: 1 day (January 1 by the solar calendar);
b) Lunar New Year: 5 days;
c) Victory Day: 1 day (April 30 by the solar calendar);
d) International Labor Day: 1 day (May 1 by the solar calendar);
dd) Hung Kings Commemoration Day: 1 day (March 10 by the lunar calendar).
- Foreign employees working in Vietnam, in addition to the holidays specified in Clause 1 of this Article, are also entitled to an additional 1 day of the traditional New Year and 1 day of the National Day of their country.
- Annually, based on actual conditions, the Prime Minister of Vietnam decides on the specific holidays as stipulated in Point b and Point e, Clause 1 of this Article.
According to the above regulations in Vietnam, employees have time off work with full pay for the following public holidays:
- New Year's Day: 1 day (January 1 by the solar calendar)

What is the number of annual leave for employees with working period under 12 months in Vietnam?
Based on Article 113 of the Labor Code 2019 regarding annual leave in Vietnam:
Article 113. Annual leave
- Employees who have worked for a full 12 months for an employer are entitled to annual leave with full pay according to their labor contract as follows:
a) 12 working days for those doing conventional work;
b) 14 working days for juvenile employees, disabled employees, or those doing heavy, hazardous, or dangerous work;
c) 16 working days for those doing extremely heavy, hazardous, or dangerous work.
- Employees who have worked for less than 12 months for an employer are entitled to annual leave days proportional to the number of months worked.
- In cases of job termination or employment loss where annual leave has not yet been taken or has not been used up, employers must pay wages for the untaken leave days.
- Employers are responsible for setting the annual leave schedule after consulting with employees and must notify employees in advance. Employees may negotiate with employers to take annual leave in multiple instances or accumulate leave for a maximum of 3 years at a time.
