February 2025 is an important time as it falls in the spring, featuring many cultural, social events, and major holidays in Vietnam and worldwide. Below are the holidays in February 2025:

- Traditional day of the Youth Army and Army Youth Committee (February 8)

- Opening day of the 2nd National Party Congress of the Communist Party (February 11)

- International Day against the Use of Child Soldiers (February 12)

- World Radio Day (February 13)

- Valentine's Day (February 14)

- Traditional day of the People's Public Security Protection Force (February 16)

- International Mother Language Day (February 21)

- Establishment day of the Military Policy Department (February 26)

- Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27)

- Traditional day of the Personnel Department of the General Politics Bureau (February 28)

On which days are employees in Vietnam entitled to paid leave?​

Pursuant to Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019 regulating holidays:

Article 112. Holidays

  1. Employees are entitled to days off and full salary for the following holidays:

a) New Year's Day: 1 day (January 1 of the Gregorian calendar);

b) Lunar New Year: 5 days;

c) Victory Day: 1 day (April 30 of the Gregorian calendar);

d) International Workers' Day: 1 day (May 1 of the Gregorian calendar);

dd) National Day: 2 days (September 2 of the Gregorian calendar and 1 adjacent day before or after);

e) Hung Kings' Commemoration Day: 1 day (March 10 of the lunar calendar).

  1. Foreign employees working in Vietnam, apart from the holidays prescribed in Clause 1 of this Article, are entitled to an additional 1 day off for their traditional New Year and 1 day off for their National Day.
  1. Annually, based on practical conditions, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam decides specific holidays as prescribed in Points b and đ of Clause 1 of this Article.

According to the above regulations, employees are entitled to days off and full salary on the following days:

- New Year's Day

- Lunar New Year

- Victory Day

- International Workers' Day

- National Day

- Hung Kings' Commemoration Day

In addition, foreign employees working in Vietnam are also entitled to an additional 1 day off for their traditional New Year and 1 day off for their National Day.

How many annual leave days are employees with disabilities in Vietnam entitled to?

Pursuant to Article 113 of the Labor Code 2019 regulating annual leave:

Article 113. Annual leave

  1. An employee who has worked for a full 12 months for an employer is entitled to annual leave with full pay according to their labor contract as follows:

a) 12 working days for those performing jobs under normal conditions;

b) 14 working days for employees who are minors, employees with disabilities, or those doing heavy, toxic, or dangerous jobs;

c) 16 working days for those doing particularly heavy, toxic, or dangerous jobs.

  1. An employee who has worked for less than 12 months for an employer is entitled to annual leave in proportion to the number of months worked.
  1. If an employee stops working or loses their job but has not taken annual leave or not taken the full number of annual leave days, the employer shall pay for the untaken days.
  1. The employer is responsible for arranging an annual leave schedule after consulting with the employees and must notify the employees in advance. Employees may agree with the employer to take annual leave in installments or to accumulate it over a maximum of 3 years at once.
  1. When taking annual leave before the pay period, the employee is entitled to an advance payment for salary according to Clause 3, Article 101 of this Code.
  1. When taking annual leave, if the journey is made by road, rail, or waterway and the travel time both ways exceeds 2 days, the travel time from the third day onwards shall be added to the annual leave days and is only counted once a year.
  1. The Government of Vietnam details this regulation.

According to the above regulations, employees with disabilities who have worked a full 12 months for an employer are entitled to 14 annual leave days.

After working for 5 years for an employer, the annual leave of employees is increased by 1 day. (Regulated in Article 114 of the Labor Code 2019)
