Are there any public holidays for employees in Vietnam in December 2024?
Based on Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019 regulating public holidays:
Article 112. Public holidays
- An employee is entitled to fully paid days off during the following public holidays:
a) New Year's Day: 01 day (January 1 of the Gregorian calendar);
b) Lunar New Year: 05 days;
c) Victory Day: 01 day (April 30 of the Gregorian calendar);
d) International Labor Day: 01 day (May 1 of the Gregorian calendar);
dd) National Day: 02 days (September 2 of the Gregorian calendar and one contiguous day before or after);
e) Hung Kings' Commemoration Day: 01 day (March 10 of the lunar calendar).
- Foreign employees working in Vietnam are entitled to one traditional New Year festival and one national day of their country, in addition to the holidays stipulated in Clause 1 of this Article.
- Annually, based on practical conditions, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam decides specific days off stipulated at Point b and Point dd Clause 1 of this Article.

- Receive wages commensurate with professional qualifications and skills on the basis of agreement with the employer; enjoy labor protection, work under conditions ensuring safety and occupational hygiene; take leave according to policies, annual leave with pay, and enjoy collective welfare benefits;
- Establish, join, and operate in employee representative organizations, professional organizations, and other organizations as stipulated by law; request and participate in dialogue, implement democratic regulation, conduct collective bargaining with the employer and be consulted at the workplace to protect their legitimate rights and interests; participate in management according to the employer's regulations;
- Refuse to work if there is a clear danger that directly threatens life, health during the performance of work;
- Unilaterally terminate labor contract;
- Go on strike;
- Other rights as stipulated by law.

- Implement the labor contract, collective labor agreement, and other legal agreements;
- Comply with labor discipline, company regulations; adhere to the management, administration, and supervision of the employer;
