Receiving Benefits for People with Meritorious Service: Eligibility for Additional Elderly Allowance
According to the provisions of Section 5, Article 5 of Decree 136/2013/ND-CP, which regulates the subjects eligible for monthly social benefits, the elderly fall into one of the following cases:
- Elderly people from poor households without any individual obligated and entitled to provide support or having an individual who is obligated and entitled to provide support but that individual is already receiving monthly social benefit policies;
- People aged 80 and above, not specified in Point a of this Section, who do not receive pensions, monthly social insurance benefits, or monthly social benefits;
- Elderly people from poor households without any individual obligated and entitled to provide support, unable to live in the community, qualified for admission into social protection establishments or social houses but have someone to care for them within the community.
Thus, according to the above-mentioned regulations, your mother, who is now 83 years old and receiving monthly benefits, does not qualify for elderly benefits.
Respectfully!
