Press Assistant for Foreigners Must Be Vietnamese Citizens
Based on Clause 6, Article 2 of Decree 88/2012/ND-CP, it is stipulated as follows:
A press assistant is a Vietnamese citizen employed under an official contract for the Resident Office in Vietnam to assist resident journalists and the Resident Office in information, media activities in Vietnam.
Thus, in the case where a foreign journalist has a resident office in Hanoi, the press assistant for this unit must be a Vietnamese citizen according to the above regulation.
