Perspectives on the Preservation and Promotion of Folk Songs, Dances, and Music of Ethnic Minorities in Connection with Tourism Development

I would like to inquire about the perspective on the conservation and promotion of the values of folk songs, folk dances, and folk music of ethnic minorities in connection with tourism development?

Pursuant to Sub-Section 1, Section I, Article 1 of Decision 3404/QD-BVHTTDL of 2021 stipulating views on the conservation and promotion of the value of traditional songs, dances, and music of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development as follows:

- Traditional songs, dances, and music of ethnic groups constitute an indispensable component, significantly contributing to the formation of Vietnam’s cultural identity, unique and diverse in unity, and contributing to the building and development of culture and humanity within the ethnic minority community.

- The conservation and promotion of the value of traditional songs, dances, and music of ethnic minorities must be closely connected with the conservation and promotion of other cultural elements such as customs, languages, scripts, attire, folklore, traditional festivals..., and must be tightly integrated with other relevant sectors and fields such as tourism, education, security, information, communication, and environment.

- During the conservation process of traditional songs, dances, and music, it is essential to assimilate, innovate, and develop while ensuring the preservation of the fundamental and core characteristics embodying the ethnic identity in the traditional songs, dances, and music of the ethnic minorities; enhancing the role and ownership of the people in building and developing cultural life.

- Focus on the development of cultural tourism, community tourism, ethnographic tourism, and rural mountainous tourism, orienting domestic tourism development connecting tourism with the conservation and promotion of the value of traditional songs, dances, and music of ethnic minorities.

- Artisans and those directly holding and practicing the traditional heritage of songs, dances, and music of ethnic minorities play a crucial role in conserving, promoting the value of traditional songs, dances, and music, contributing to the sustainable development of the ethnic minority community.

- Intensify the application of science and technology, with a focus on digital technology to research, collect, document, restore, preserve, promote, and disseminate the value of various forms of traditional songs, dances, and music, especially those at risk of being faded out.

Sincerely!
