Measures to Protect the Safety of Victims of Human Trafficking and Their Relatives
Regarding this issue, as stipulated in Article 7 of Decree 62/2012/ND-CP providing the basis for identifying victims of trafficking and ensuring the safety of the victims and their relatives as issued by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam, it is regulated as follows:
Depending on specific cases and actual conditions, the responsible authority for protection may apply one or more of the following protective measures to ensure the safety of the victims and their relatives (hereinafter collectively referred to as the protected persons):
- Maintain confidentiality regarding the provision of documents and evidence by the protected persons.
- Keep confidential the information about private life, identity characteristics, residence, work, study, and other related information of the protected persons.
- Arrange security forces at the residence, workplace, place of study, travel routes of the protected persons, in courtrooms, and other necessary locations.
- Restrict the movement and communication scope of the protected persons.
- Arrange temporary shelters for the protected persons.
- Arrange new places of residence, work, and study for the protected persons.
- Apply preventive measures to deter acts of harm or threats of harm to the life, health, honor, dignity, and property of the protected persons as prescribed by law.
- Conduct closed trials.
