International tourists to Vietnam only need a certificate of full COVID-19 vaccination?
Based on Section II of Guidance 4122/HD-BVHTTDL in 2021 (Provisional Pilot Guidance for Welcoming International Tourists to Vietnam) stipulates as follows:
International tourists arriving in Vietnam include foreigners and overseas Vietnamese from key and potential tourism markets of Vietnam who meet the immigration and health conditions outlined below:
Possess certification of full COVID-19 vaccination approved by a competent authority in Vietnam (not applicable to children under 12 years old traveling with parents or guardians). The second dose or the single-dose vaccine (for one-dose vaccines) must have been administered at least 14 days and not more than 12 months before the time of departure. Alternatively, possess certification of recovery from COVID-19 or equivalent documents confirming recovery issued by the competent authority of the country of treatment and recognized by Vietnam. The duration from hospital discharge to the time of departure must not exceed 06 months.
Obtain a negative result from an RT-PCR/RT-LAMP test for SARS-CoV-2 within 72 hours prior to departure, certified by a competent authority in the country conducting the test (calculated from the time of sample collection).
Possess health insurance or travel insurance that covers COVID-19 treatment with a minimum liability of 50,000 USD.
Participate in a package tour program organized by a travel enterprise.
Therefore, international tourists arriving in Vietnam are not only required to have certification of full COVID-19 vaccination but must also meet other conditions as outlined above.
