International Tourists to Vietnam During the Covid Season Must Have Health Insurance or Travel Insurance?
Based on Subsection 3, Section II of Guideline 4122/HD-BVHTTDL in 2021 (Provisional Pilot Guideline on Welcoming International Tourists to Vietnam), the provisions are as follows:
International tourists coming to Vietnam are foreigners or Vietnamese residing abroad from Vietnam's key and potential tourism markets, meeting the conditions for entry and exit and the following health conditions:
Have certification of full COVID-19 vaccination as recognized by the competent authority in Vietnam (this does not apply to children under 12 years old traveling with their parents or guardians). The second dose or the first dose (for single-dose vaccines) must be administered at least 14 days and no more than 12 months from the time of departure. Alternatively, they must have certification of recovery from COVID-19 or equivalent documents confirming recovery issued by the authorized body in the country of treatment and recognized by Vietnam. The time from hospital discharge to the time of departure must not exceed 06 months.
Have a negative result for the SARS-CoV-2 test using the RT-PCR/RT-LAMP method within 72 hours before departure, certified by the competent authority of the country where the test is performed (calculated from the time the sample is taken).
3. Have health insurance or travel insurance that covers COVID-19 treatment with a minimum liability of 50,000 USD.
- Participate in a package tour program arranged by a travel agency.
Thus, according to the above guideline, international tourists coming to Vietnam must have health insurance or travel insurance that covers COVID-19 treatment with a minimum liability of 50,000 USD.
Respectfully!
