In Vietnam, is it correct that anyone growing 100 cannabis plants shall be fined 10.000.000 VND? In Vietnam, does anyone using cannabis only receive a warning?
If someone grows approximately 100 cannabis plants, what are the fines imposed to him/her? I want to if people using cannabis shall only receive a warning. Thank you
In Vietnam, is it correct that anyone growing 100 cannabis plants shall be fined 10.000.000 VND?
Pursuant to Clause 3, Article 23 of the Decree 144/2021/ND-CP stipulating violations against regulations on prevention, combat and control of narcotic substances in Vietnam as follows:
A fine of from VND 5.000.000 to VND 10.000.000 shall be imposed for growing opium poppy plants, coca plants, cannabis plants, khat plants other plants containing narcotic substances.
As regulations above, the maximun fine up to VND 10.000.000 shall be imposed for anyone growing 100 cannabis plants, which is not enough to prosecute criminal liability. Besides, as prescribed in Clause 8 of this Article, additional penalty of confiscating the exhibits and means used for committing administrative violations shall also be imposed.
In Vietnam, does anyone using cannabis only receive a warning?
Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 23 of the Decree 144/2021/ND-CP stipulating violations against regulations on prevention, combat and control of narcotic substances in Vietnam as follows:
1. A warning or a fine ranging from 1.000.000 VND to 2.000.000 VND shall be imposed for illegal use of narcotic substances.
As regualtions above, anyone using cannabis shall be warned or fined ranging from 1.000.000 VND to 2.000.000 VND, and confisticated the exhibits and means used for committing administrative violations.
