Clause 1b, Article 31 of the Law on Tourism 2014 stipulates that the condition for domestic travel service business is to pay domestic travel service deposit at a bank.

According to Clause 1, Article 14, Circular 168/2017/ND-CP stipulates the domestic travel service deposit is VND 100,000,000 (one hundred million dong).

Thus, according to the above regulations in Vietnam, in case the unit intends to do domestic travel service, this industry is required by law to deposit an amount of VND 100 million.

Can I study to get a tour guide card after graduating from college in Vietnam? I graduated from college with a major in tourism guiding at Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture. Can I get a tour guide card with my qualifications? Thanks for the answer.

Pursuant to Article 59 of the Law on Tourism 2014, conditions for issuance of the tour guide card include:

2. To obtain the international tour guide card, a person shall:

a) satisfy the conditions prescribed in Points a, b and c, Clause 1 of this Article;

b) hold a college degree or higher in tour guiding; in case of a college degree or higher in another major, a certificate of training in domestic tour guiding is required;

c) have a good command of the foreign language registered.

Thus, to be granted an international tour guide card, one must meet the conditions of a college degree, major in tour guide, professional certificate, and foreign language. Therefore, according to the information you provided, you have graduated from college with a major in tour guide, so you need to study for a certificate of training in domestic tour guiding and a foreign language to register to practice in order to be granted a international tour guide card.

Recently, my friend borrowed my card to practice as a guide. It was fine, so I lent it. However, recently he was discovered and punished by an inspector. Also revoked my instruction card. I wonder if my card will be revoked for this behavior? If it is revoked, how long will it take for me to apply for a new card? Thank.

Pursuant to Article 64 of the Law on Tourism 2014, the tour guide card shall be revoked if the tour guide commits one of the following acts:

a) Cause harm to national sovereignty and interests, national defense and security;

b) Allow another person to use the tour guide card to practice;

c) Fail to meet the conditions for practice and issuance of tour guide cards as prescribed by this Law;

d) Forge the application for issuance, replacement and reissuance of the tour guide card.

3. The tour guide whose card is revoked shall only request a competent authority to issue a tour guide card after 12 months from the revocation date.

Thus, based on the above regulations in Vietnam, the act of allowing another person to use the tour guide card to practice is subject to having the card revoked. Therefore, having your instruction card revoked is in accordance with regulations. You will be offered an instruction card 12 months after the date of revocation.
