How Long is Guest Information Kept at Guesthouses?
Based on Article 44 of Decree 96/2016/ND-CP, the guesthouse is responsible for:
- Checking and managing the identification documents of visitors to the guests in the rooms, recording all information in the logbook, and returning the identification documents when they leave the lodging establishment.
- Storing the information of the guests and the information of the visitors to the guests in the rooms for a period of at least 36 months.
- In the case where guests carry weapons or support tools, they must be required to present a usage permit issued by the Police or Military authorities. If the guests do not present the usage permit, it must be immediately reported to the Police authorities.

According to the above regulations, the information of guests visiting the guesthouse is stored for a period of at least 36 months. Hence, in the case concerning you, the information from August 2020 is still being stored by the guesthouse.
