Hotel Employees Must Undergo Proper Tourism Training, Right?
Article 22 of Decree 168/2017/ND-CP stipulates the minimum conditions regarding technical facilities and services for hotels, including:
Having an electrical system, a clean water supply system, and a drainage system.
Having a minimum of 10 guestrooms; having a reception desk and communal restrooms.
Having parking spaces for guests for resort hotels and roadside hotels.
Having a kitchen, dining room, and food service for resort hotels, floating hotels, and roadside hotels.
Having beds, mattresses, blankets, pillows, face towels, and bath towels; changing mattress covers, blanket covers, pillow covers, face towels, and bath towels when new guests arrive.
Having staff available 24 hours a day.
Managers and staff trained in tourism operations.
However, Clause 1, Article 5 of Decree 142/2018/ND-CP stipulates: Repeal Clauses 1 and 7 of Article 22 of Decree 168/2017/ND-CP.
Therefore, from October 9, 2018, when Decree 142/2018/ND-CP came into effect, the requirement that hotel staff be trained in tourism operations was abolished.
As a result, if you open a hotel, you must meet the above five minimum conditions regarding technical facilities and services, with no requirement that hotel staff be trained in tourism operations.
Sincerely!
