Cosmetic Surgery: Eligibility for Beauty Pageants
Previously, according to Point a Clause 1 Article 19 of Decree 79/2012/ND-CP, contestants in beauty pageants had to possess natural beauty.
And Article 6 of Circular 01/2016/TT-BVHTTDL guides: Contestants with natural beauty are those who have not undergone cosmetic surgery.
According to previous regulations, individuals who had undergone cosmetic surgery were not allowed to compete in beauty pageants.
Currently, in Decree 144/2020/ND-CP (replacing Decree 79/2012/ND-CP), the requirement for contestants in beauty pageants to have natural beauty has been removed.
=> Thus, under current regulations, individuals who have undergone cosmetic surgery can still participate in beauty pageants.
