Conditions and Standards for Persons Active in the Resistance Suffering from Exposure to Toxic Chemicals
Conditions and standards for individuals who participated in revolutionary activities and were exposed to chemical toxins as stipulated in Article 29 of the Ordinance on Preferences for Individuals with Meritorious Services to the Revolution 2020. Specifically:
Individuals who have worked, fought, or served in combat from August 1, 1961, to April 30, 1975, in the areas where the U.S. military used chemical toxins in battle zones B, C, K, and certain locations in Vinh Linh District, Quang Tri Province, resulting in one of the following conditions, are eligible to receive the “Certificate of Revolutionary Activist Exposed to Chemical Toxins” issued by the competent authority:
a) Suffering from diseases associated with chemical toxin exposure with a body impairment rate of 21% or higher;
b) Infertility;
c) Giving birth to deformed or defective children.
The Government of Vietnam shall detail the locations within Vinh Linh District, Quang Tri Province, and the list of diseases, deformities, and defects related to chemical toxin exposure as stipulated in this Article.
