Basic Handling in Restoration of Printed and Handwritten Documents on Paper

Circular 02/2020/TT-BVHTTDL (Effective from July 09, 2020) stipulates basic treatments in restoring information resources, including printed documents and handwritten documents on paper:
- Repairing, replacing, attaching loose pages; reinforcing, repairing the spine; replacing endpapers, replacing book spines; repairing old covers or replacing with new covers; making pouches, boxes, and other types of packaging for documents with minor damage such as loose pages, torn endpapers, torn covers, loose spine, and loose covers.
- Cleaning documents using surface cleaning methods without using organic solvents to remove dirt, insects, or foreign objects adhered to the surface of the documents or that hinder the visibility of images or information.
- Flattening documents that have been rolled up or folded for a long time which makes them difficult to use; documents that curl up, have bent corners, or are wrinkled due to long-term storage or improper handling by users.
