What are requirements for classification of sports and entertainment radio and television programs in Vietnam?
Pursuant Clause 2 Article 3 of the Circular 06/2023/TT-BTTTT stipulating the principles of classification of sports and entertainment radio and television content as follows:
Rules for classifying sports and entertainment radio and television content on demand
1. On-demand radio and television content is entertainment programs, sports programs about extreme sports, combat sports, martial arts, violence and danger, editing units must label and clearly state the classification level for the edited program according to the program classification levels specified in Clause 4 of this Article;
2. Program classification principles
a) Based on presentation, specific situations and contexts, interactivity, frequency, duration, level of detail of images, sounds, lights, dialogues and level of impact of the program for listeners, the viewers, where the importance of context and degree of impact on listeners, are considered priority factors in categorizing the program;
b) Depending on the content, the program is considered for a lower classification when there are circumstances:
- When depicted verbally rather than visually in television programs, visual and audio programs;
- Images and words have low impact;
c) Depending on the content, the program is classified at a higher level when there are circumstances:
- Contains more details, including close-ups and slow motions;
- Use accent techniques such as lighting, perspective, and resolution;
- Use special effects such as light, sound, noise, resolution, color, size of the image, characteristics and tones;
- Be realistic instead of stylized;
- Encourage interaction.
d) If the program is in the middle of the classification levels, the program has a way to handle the situation and the results show the message of education, humanity, praise of moral and social values, positive impact to the listener, the viewers will be considered classified at a lower level.
Thus, the classification of sports and entertainment radio and television content as required must satisfy the following conditions:
- Expression, specific situations and contexts, interactivity, frequency, duration, detail level of images, sounds, lights, dialogues and impact of the program on listeners, viewing, where the importance of context and degree of impact on listeners, considered as priority factors in the classification of the program;
+ Depending on the content, the program is considered to be classified at a lower level when there are circumstances:

- Depending on the content, the program is classified at a higher level when there are circumstances:

06 levels of classification of sports and entertainment radio and television programs from August 15, 2023 in Vietnam?
On June 30, 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Circular 06/2023/TT-BTTTT guiding the principles of editing, classifying and warning sports and entertainment radio and television content on broadcasting services.
Pursuant to Clause 4, Article 3 of Circular 06/2023/TT-BTTTT stipulating regulations on 06 levels of classification of sports and entertainment radio and television programs from August 15, 2023, which are ranked from low to high, including:
- Category P: Programs are allowed to be disseminated to listeners and viewers of all ages;
- Category K: Programs are allowed to be disseminated to listeners and viewers under the age of 13 on condition that they listen and watch with their parents, guardians;
- Category T13 : Programs are allowed to be disseminated to listeners and viewers aged 13 years or older;
-Category T16 : Programs are allowed to be disseminated to listeners and viewers aged 16 years or older;
- Category T18 : Programs are allowed to be disseminated to listeners and viewers aged 18 years or older;
- Category C: Programs are not allowed to be disseminated.
For programs rated C: Not allowed on the service.
How many criteria are there to classify sports and entertainment radio and television programs from August 15, 2023 in Vietnam?
In Clause 3, Article 3 of Circular 06/2023/TT-BTTTT stipulating 07 criteria for classifying sports and entertainment radio and television programs from August 15, 2023, including:
(1) Regarding the topic and content;
(2) Regarding violence;
(3) Regarding nudity, sex;
(4) Regarding drugs, stimulants and addictive substances;
(5) Regarding horror;
(6) Regardingimages, sounds, vulgar language;
(7) Regarding dangerous behavior, easy to imitate.
Note: Circular 06/2023/TT-BTTTT takes effect from August 15, 2023.
