Veterinary Drugs Containing Narcotic Substances and Precursors: Definitions and Regulations
Based on Clause 5, Article 2 of the Law on Drug Prevention and Control 2021 (Effective from January 1, 2022) stipulates:
Veterinary drugs containing narcotics, precursors are veterinary drugs containing substances specified in Clauses 2, 3, and 4 of this Article.
To be specific, these substances are:
- Narcotic substances are stimulants or central nervous system depressants that can easily cause addiction in users.
- Psychotropic substances are stimulants or central nervous system depressants, or hallucinogens, which, if used repeatedly, can lead to addiction in users.
- Precursor substances are chemicals indispensable in the process of preparing and producing narcotic substances as specified in the list of precursors issued by the Government of Vietnam.
