My child has been placed in a correctional school for education. Starting from 2020, will the certificates issued by the correctional school be of lesser or equal value compared to those issued by external schools?
Answer:
Based on Clause 3, Article 147 of the Law on Execution of Criminal Judgments 2019, which stipulates the value of certificates issued by correctional schools:
Correctional schools are responsible for organizing examinations, evaluations, student ratings, and conducting semester exams, end-of-year exams, transferring levels, selecting excellent students, or other forms of examinations.
Scorebooks, academic records, files, and related forms regarding students' studies must follow the unified template of the Ministry of Education and Training.
3. Academic and vocational certificates issued by correctional schools to students hold the same value as those issued by general education and vocational education institutions.
Thus, academic and vocational certificates issued by correctional schools are of equal value to those issued by external schools.
