The Offender Circulating Counterfeit Money Can Also Be Fined Up to VND 100 Million?
Article 207 of the Criminal Code 2015 stipulates the Crime of manufacturing, storing, transporting, and circulating counterfeit money:
Any person who manufactures, stores, transports, or circulates counterfeit money shall be sentenced to imprisonment from 03 years to 07 years.
Committing the crime in the case where the counterfeit money has a corresponding value from 5,000,000 VND to under 50,000,000 VND, shall be sentenced to imprisonment from 05 years to 12 years.
Committing the crime in the case where the counterfeit money has a corresponding value from 50,000,000 VND or more, shall be sentenced to imprisonment from 10 years to 20 years or life imprisonment.
Any person who prepares to commit this crime shall be subject to non-custodial reform for up to 03 years or imprisonment from 01 year to 03 years.
The offender may also be subject to a fine from 10,000,000 VND to 100,000,000 VND or partial or total confiscation of property.
Accordingly, the person who commits the crime of circulating counterfeit money may also be subject to a fine from 10,000,000 VND to 100,000,000 VND or partial or total confiscation of property.
