Responsibilities of the Commune-Level Police in the Enforcement of Criminal Sentences in the Community
According to Clause 1, Article 24 of Circular 65/2019/TT-BCA, the responsibilities of the Commune Police are as follows:
The Commune Police are responsible for advising and assisting the Commune People's Committee in managing, supervising, and educating individuals serving sentences in accordance with the Criminal Execution Law and the guidance and directives of higher-level police agencies and units. They are responsible for:
- Receiving and managing various files, documents, and papers related to criminal execution within the community;
- Preparing management files, supervising, educating individuals serving sentences as stipulated in Article 8 of this Circular;
- Conducting reports and statistics on criminal execution within the community;
- Transferring files, documents related to criminal execution within the community as per regulations;
- Conducting reviews and exemption processes for the duration of sentence execution, processing individuals who violate their obligations, the law, commit new crimes, and handling cases of deceased individuals serving sentences according to regulations;
- Assessing and reporting on the situation and results of obligation fulfillment, legal compliance of individuals serving sentences;
- Implementing measures to manage and prevent individuals serving sentences from violating the law and their obligations;
- Coordinating with local agencies, departments, and organizations to manage, supervise, and educate individuals serving sentences;
- Collaborating with the family of the individual serving the sentence, the agency, unit, or organization where the individual works or studies in managing, supervising, and educating the individual;
- Performing other tasks related to the management, supervision, and education of individuals serving sentences.
