Possession of 1kg Coca Leaves: How Many Years of Imprisonment?

Pursuant to Clause 66, Article 1 of the 2017 Law amending the Criminal Code, amending Article 249 of the 2015 Criminal Code, which stipulates the Crime of illegal storage of narcotics:

Anyone who illegally stores narcotics without the purpose of illegal trading, transportation, or production of narcotics under any of the following circumstances shall be sentenced to imprisonment from 1 year to 5 years:

...

d) Coca leaves; khat leaves (Catha edulis leaves); leaves, roots, stems, branches, flowers, fruits of cannabis plants, or parts of other plants containing narcotics as prescribed by the Government of Vietnam with a mass from 1 kilogram to under 10 kilograms;

Thus, anyone who illegally stores 1 kg of coca leaves (without the purpose of illegal trading, transportation, or production of narcotics) may be sentenced to imprisonment from 1 year to 5 years.
