Illegal Abortion Resulting in Death: What Is the Prison Sentence?
Section 118, Article 1 of the Law Amending the Criminal Code 2017 stipulates the crime of illegal abortion as follows:
- Anyone who performs illegal abortion for another person in one of the following cases shall be subject to non-custodial reform for up to 03 years or a prison term of 01 to 03 years:
a) Causing death;
b) Causing harm to the health of a person with a bodily injury rate of 61% or higher;

Thus, any person who performs illegal abortion for another person and causes death shall be subject to non-custodial reform for up to 03 years or a prison term of 01 to 03 years.
