Counterfeiting 1 Billion VND: What Is the Prison Sentence?
Based on Clause 3, Article 207 of the Criminal Code 2015, which provides for the Crime of Counterfeiting Money as follows:
Any person who counterfeits, stores, transports, or circulates counterfeit money shall be sentenced to imprisonment for a term ranging from 03 years to 07 years.
Committing the crime in the case where the counterfeit money has a value equivalent to VND 5,000,000 to less than VND 50,000,000, shall be sentenced to imprisonment for a term ranging from 05 years to 12 years.
Committing the crime in the case where the counterfeit money has a value equivalent to VND 50,000,000 or more, shall be sentenced to imprisonment for a term ranging from 10 years to 20 years or life imprisonment.

Thus, in the case of counterfeiting money with a value equivalent to VND 50,000,000 or more, the sentence shall be imprisonment for a term ranging from 10 years to 20 years or life imprisonment. Therefore, in the case of counterfeiting money valued at VND 1 billion, the sentence can also be imprisonment for a term ranging from 10 years to 20 years or life imprisonment.
