After the execution of the death sentence, are relatives entitled to funeral expenses financed by the State of Vietnam?
According to Article 7 of Decree 43/2020/ND-CP, funeral expenses are regulated as follows:
Funeral expenses for individuals subject to execution of the death sentence include 01 wooden coffin, 01 set of clothes, 04 meters of shroud fabric, incense, candles, alcohol, disinfectant for cleaning during the shrouding of the corpse, and other funeral expenses.
Where relatives or the legal representative of the condemned person receive the corpse and ashe for burial, they must bear the expenses themselves and commit to complying with the law regarding security, order, and environmental sanitation.
Thus, if the relatives of the condemned person receive the corpse and ashe for burial, they must bear the funeral expenses, and the state will not provide financial aid in this case.
What equipment and instruments are used for the execution of the death sentence in Vietnam?
According to Clause 2 Article 5 of Decree 43/2020/ND-CP, the following equipment and instruments are regulated:
2. Equipment and instruments used for the execution of the death sentence include:
a) A bed with straps to restrain the condemned person;
b) An automatic drug injection machine with a control button;
c) A heart rate monitor;
d) Screens and monitoring devices to check the execution process;
dd) Other instruments and equipment used for the execution.
Thus, for the execution of the death sentence, it is necessary to prepare a bed with straps to restrain the condemned person; an automatic drug injection machine with a control button; a heart rate monitor; screens and monitoring devices to check the execution process; and other instruments and equipment used for the execution.
