Title: Authorization for Bank Savings Deposit
Savings deposit refers to an individual's monetary amount deposited into a savings deposit account, which is confirmed on a savings card, earns interest according to regulations of the organization receiving the savings deposit, and is insured according to the provisions of the law on deposit insurance.
The depositor is the person who conducts transactions related to savings deposits. The depositor can be the owner of the savings deposit, a joint owner of the savings deposit, or the guardian or legal representative of the owner of the savings deposit or the joint owner of the savings deposit.
Clause 1a, Article 8 of the Regulation on Savings Deposits issued together with Decision No. 1160/2004/QD-NHNN (amended and supplemented by Clause 2, Article 1 of Decision 47/2006/QD-NHNN) stipulates:
The depositor must personally conduct the deposit transaction at the organization receiving the savings deposit and present the following documents:
- For depositors who are Vietnamese individuals, they must present a valid identity card or passport. For depositors who are foreign individuals, they must present a passport with a valid visa; if the depositor enters under visa exemption pursuant to the law on entry, they must present a valid passport.
- For depositors who are guardians or legal representatives, in addition to presenting a valid identity card or passport, they must present documents proving their status as the guardian or legal representative of minors, persons with lost civil act capacity, or persons with limited civil act capacity.
- For individuals aged from full fifteen to under eighteen years old but possessing separate assets, in addition to presenting a valid identity card or passport, they must present documents to prove that the bank deposit is their personal asset, such as inheritance documents, gifts, or other documents proving that the money deposited into the bank is their property.
Thus, under this regulation, it can be understood that the depositor must directly conduct the deposit transaction at the savings deposit-receiving organization and cannot authorize another person to act on their behalf. Therefore, when you wish to make a savings deposit at a bank, you must go directly and present a valid identity card or passport.
Respectfully!
