Is Photocopied Money with Notarization Legal?
Is it legal to photocopy money?
Article 3 of Decision 130/2003/QD-TTg stipulates the following prohibited acts:
Counterfeiting, transporting, storing, circulating, buying, or selling counterfeit money.
Destroying Vietnamese currency in any form.
Photocopying Vietnamese currency for any purpose without prior written consent from the State Bank of Vietnam.
Refusing to accept and circulate the currency issued by the State Bank of Vietnam within the territory of Vietnam.
Thus, based on current regulations, the act of photocopying money is prohibited. Therefore, the act of certifying photocopied money is considered illegal.
Which agency is responsible for providing information about counterfeit money?
Article 5 of Decision 130/2003/QD-TTg stipulates the information about Vietnamese currency and counterfeit money as follows:
The State Bank of Vietnam shall announce the characteristics and ways to identify Vietnamese currency through mass media. This announcement must be publicly posted at the transaction offices of the State Bank of Vietnam, credit institutions, the State Treasury, and other organizations engaged in banking activities.
When necessary, the State Bank of Vietnam shall publicly announce through mass media the identification features of counterfeit money circulating in the market for agencies, units, economic, social organizations, and individuals to be aware.
The provision of information and the publication of information about counterfeit money shall be carried out in accordance with the law.
Based on current regulations, the State Bank of Vietnam is responsible for providing information about counterfeit money.
